Skydance Paramount Will Remove Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Report
Skydance Paramount is scheduled to begin large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, cutting about 2,000 US jobs as part of a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August valued at $8.4bn.
Additional global layoffs are anticipated, as the firm intending to reveal complete information in its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.
Previous updates had indicated the company was looking to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 roles before the start of November.
By December 2024, Paramount retained about 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response to a request for comment.
